Breaking: "Flash: Rebirth" Runs Longer

In Comic News on May 12, 2009 at 5:10 pm

DC Comics, via its Source Blog, has announced some changes to its “The Flash: Rebirth” mini.

The series, penned by Geoff Johns and drawn by Ethan Van Sciver, has been extended from a 5 issue mini-series to a 6 issue mini.  No word yet on the reason for the extension, though its likely that Geoff Johns just wants to rape some more of Barry Allen’s continuity.

We’ll be updating on this as soon as more information becomes available.  Until then, check out our reviews for issues one and two.

When DC Comics did “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, there were deaths galore, but none more poignant than that of DC’s Scarlet Speedster, The Flash, who at that time was Central City police scientist Barry Allen.  Having been cleared of murder charges and retired to the 30th century with his wife Iris at the end of his own series, Barry bravely returned to fight in the Crisis, and gave his life to shut down the Anti-Monitor’s ultimate weapon, an Anti-Matter Ray.
