The Pull List! Aug. 8, 2009

In The Pull List! on August 3, 2009 at 2:11 pm

Another week, another pull list!  Not a lot to say this month, so let’s just dive right into it.  It’s fortunately another week light on Dark Reign related books, while DC continues to push the World Without Superman arc.  Remember to check the websites of each book’s publisher for more information, and don’t forget that just because it isn’t on the list doesn’t mean it isn’t good!

Also, big thanks to Marron over at Avengers Tower for the shameless plug; you can find what she’s picking up this week by clicking here.

The second episode of the HomeWorld’s official podcast brings it to blip.tv! Be sure to update your iTunes subscriptions to get the latest podcasts. The sound issues are fixed in this episode, though there is some minor distortion on my end at times.

Special thanks to Autmn After for the intro/outro music, titled “Scarlett Scarlett”, on today’s episode. To find out more about the band, visit them at http://www.myspace.com/autumnafterr

This episode, Christopher and Derek discuss Autumn After, Christopher’s first goatseing and related internet memes, Captain America’s return and its effect on the state of Marvel comics, Wii Sports Resort, why Watchmen was a letdown, which Punisher movie was the best, The Passion Of The Christ, and Sylvester Stallone.

VIDEO: The Pull List! Week of May 28, 2009

So this week, I decided to try something new! Your Pull List is now in a convenient, bite size format, in the form of the video below. Its still pretty experimental, but the goal is to start including a lot more video content, since its much easier to digest than long winded articles…though, don’t get me wrong, there will still be plenty of written articles and reviews; we simply don’t have the time or resources to do videos of everything at this stage.

Hope you enjoyed it! Leave a comment and let us know what you think for future episodes.

Review: "Hulk VS."

In On Film on March 10, 2009 at 3:08 am

Marvel and DC are now doing war on a new front, and that is the world of animated features.  To be fair, they’ve both been doing this for years, but since they’ve been releasing more high profile features than usual.  And now, with “The Incredible Hulk” having been such a hit and the well response to “Ultimate Avengers” and “Ultimate Avengers 2” animated features, Marvel has stepped out again, releasing “Hulk. VS.”

The Pull List! — Week of February 18, 2009

In The Pull List! on February 18, 2009 at 1:06 am

So here we are, my first official pull list on the new Homeworld, and I must admit its a bitter one.  Last week saw the end of “Nightwing”, and this week sees the end of two more great DCU titles, “Robin” and “Birds of Prey”.  Its quite the shame; these titles have had their missteps but have always been solid books with consistently good sales and fantastic stories.  Mind you, these characters will be showing up next week in “Battle for the Cowl”, but that’s beyond the point.  That said, let’s dive in headfirst: here’s what you need to be sure to pick up in comics this week!
