Spoilery Bits: Odd Critters Edition!

In Random Shit on February 23, 2007 at 11:17 am

KFC=Kept Free Critters?
Well isn’t that special? Somebody videotaped a bunch of rats running around a KFC restaurant (while the store was closed, mind you) from the sidewalk window. Yum!

Is your coat Minx or Terrier?
The ASPCA purchased coats off shelves and online and found that some of the fur actually came from dogs.

And finally, as proof that not all pet stories are disturbing and sickening, an abandoned baby rottweiler was adopted by a cat. Isn’t it just precious?

House Picked Up For Season 4!

In Entertainment on February 19, 2007 at 9:07 am

FOX’s other hit show, “House, MD”, has gotten picked up for a fourth season. Yes, that’s right, you get another full season chock full of 2-6 week breaks for more American Idol.

I love “House”, its a wonderful show that’s hooked me like crack, but dear God the American Idol breaks are getting annoying. Oh well. I’ll post some spoilers up when I’m not, ya know…in class >_>

Aaron Eckhart is Harvey Dent

In Entertainment on February 15, 2007 at 10:34 pm

Aaron EckhartAaron Eckhart (“Thank You For Smoking”, “Paycheck”) has snagged the coveted role of Harvey Dent (and one can assume eventually Two-Face) in the upcoming Batman Begins sequel, “The Dark Knight”. Filming will be beginning soon on the picture, which is slated for a 2008 release.

The character of Harvey Dent is a Gotham City District Attorney who allies himself with Batman to help stop gang war in Gotham, but is horribly scarred during a trial when a mob boss throws acid on him. Half his face destroyed, Dent becomes Two-Face, a mob boss obsessed with the number two, his actions determined by a silver coin which he has scarred on once side. Eckhart will be the second actor to play this role in a live action feature, the first being Tommy Lee Jones in 1995’s “Batman Forever”. The character also made appearances in “Batman: The Animated Series” and “The New Batman Adventures”, voiced by Richard Moll (“Night Court”).

Also rumored to be joining the cast is Maggie Gyllenhal, who is said to be replacing Katie Holmes as the character Rachel Dawes. When asked for confirmation, her reps only advised they would not confirm or deny the report.

Eckhart joins a growing cast which includes returning actors Christian Bale (“The Machinist”), Gary Oldman (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”), Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”), newcomer Heath Ledger (“Brokeback Mountain”) as The Joker, and is directed by returning director Christopher Nolan (“Memento”, “Insomnia”)

Google Pwnz J00

Just got done playing with one of Google/GMail’s newer features, Docs & Spreadsheets. its a WYSIWYG, Word-style text editor that stores text documents online, and holy shit this is nice. Its completely free right now (all you need is a Google account, which are now open to the public and no longer invite only) and functions just as good as, if not better than, Microsoft Word. Its a real useful tool, especially for me, seeing as how going to college and being at home usually means my writing takes place on several different computers…all you need is internet access and you can open up, edit, and save your documents in HTML, RTF, .DOC, and even PDF format.

Its an excellent feature, and I highly recommend it. To try it out, shoot on over to and don’t forget to get a kick-ass e-mail account over at GMail.

Doom! Green Goblin! And who’s this…Venom guy?

In Comics, Entertainment on February 9, 2007 at 8:42 am has thrown up production art of Dr. Doom (he has a skirt!) from FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and new art of Green Goblin II (Snowboarder…of Doom!) and Venom (Future champion hot dog eater…look at those jaws!). I’m going to agree with the poster that while Venom looks cool (Ok, I admit, Venom stills and such are kinda creepy to me), how he looks in motion and sounds are what’s key.

Oh, you probably would like the link to those pics, wouldn’t you?
